EYE EXAMINATION

Why is it so important to have an eye examination?

We use our eyes from first thing in the morning when we open them, up until we close them at night. They work extremely hard allowing us to see, be it in work, school, driving etc. They deserve to be looked after and we can do that by having them checked every two years.

What happens in the eye test?

The optometrist will take you into the testing room where she will take a brief medical history from you. She will then check your vision and advise you if glasses are needed.

She will then check in behind the eyes for any abnormalities and eye diseases which may be present.

How long will the eye test take?

It will take about 20 minutes.

Am I entitled to a FREE eye test?

If you have a medical card or have enough PRSI contributions you are entitled to a test completely FREE as well as FREE glasses.
